- Bug Guard Plus Picaridin
Picaridin, now recognized by the CDC as an effective (and odorless!) alternative to DEET, is the main ingredient in this light, easy spray.
$10, Avon

- Anti-Bug Balm
The surprisingly pleasant lemon-rosemary scent is just enough to deter bugs (rather than friends and coworkers). It's also über-moisturizing when applied to face, wrists, and ankles.
$9, Badger Balm

- Kids' Wristband
"Because mosquitoes suck," as the band's text points out, it repels bugs within a range of two to four feet. The wristbands come in vaporproof resealable bags and work for 100 hours—just pop them back in the bags between uses.
$3, Bug Bam

- Don't Bug Me! Patch
Don't be afraid of the patch-delivery system—vitamin B1 (which mosquitos hate) and skin-soothing aloe are the only ingredients. Apply one two hours before venturing into the great outdoors, and leave it on for up to 36 hours of protection—even while you're taking a dip in the pool or the ocean.
$5, Don't Bug Me

- Herbal Insect Repellent
Multiple oils (including lemongrass, citronella, peppermint, and clove) compose this ultranatural offering. It comes out in a thick jet spray, so be sure to aim it into your hands and then rub it onto the rest of your body.
$7.50, Burt's Bees for stores
