SCRIBBLE MONSTER, $15

Fans of this campy-edgy kids' band may miss the growly Muppet-like voices that appeared on previous albums, but the Scribble Monster gang rocks just as hard on this new disc. Funny voices or not, the group's two other signature elements—a devilish sense of humor and masterfully catchy songwriting—are definitely in full effect. Any uninitiated listeners owe it to themselves to check out the comic genius behind a parody dance track like "I'm a Utility Pole (The World's Worst Dance Song)" and the wonderful mixture of sweetness and wit in "The Song of LIFE," a love song based on Milton Bradley's "The Game of LIFE." (Sample lyric: "We ride around in a plastic car / Tiny pegs is all we are.") —Ages 4 and up

Top Track: "Spare the Rock, Spoil the Child"
