Lego Rock Band
Lego Rock Band
Warner Bros Interactive and MTV Games, for all consoles, $50 for the Playstation 3, Wii, and XBox 360; $30 for the Nintendo DS

It's a mega mashup of two of our favorite video-game series ever. You get the chance to literally build a band (musicians can even take the form of classic Lego characters, like armored knights), and rock out to, say, "Kung Fu Fighting." It's a rhythm-based game with plastic instruments, just like the regular Rock Band, but the added Lego-ness adds just enough of a family-fun factor to give it an edge. —Ages 6 and up
