Pork Dumplings

  • 3 scallions (green parts)
  • 1 cabbage leaf
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1/2 in. peeled ginger root
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 8-oz. can water chestnuts (drained)
  • 1 1/4 lbs. ground pork
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup oyster sauce
  • 48 wonton wrappers

  1. Blend the first six ingredients in a food processor.
  2. In a bowl, combine the mixture with the pork, egg, soy sauce, and oyster sauce.
  3. Place 1 heaping teaspoon of the pork mixture in each wrapper and seal. Place the dumplings over additional cabbage leaves in a bamboo steamer ($19 for 2) and steam for 12 to 15 minutes.
