Best Quality
Tiny Prints

Tiny Prints has more than 200 folded or flat designs (many allowing for multiple images) from the big names in stationery, like Meri Meri and MiGi. You can opt to have a sample mailed to you for approval before placing your order. Customer-service representatives will call you if the photo resolution is too low, or to ask specific questions about cropping the image to ensure a great finished product—on lovely, thick card stock.

Bonus: They'll ship the envelopes to you ahead of time, so you can get all that addressing out of the way as you're mulling over which photos to choose.

From $1.24 each, Holiday Mittens.

Best Style
Martha Stewart for Kodak

Ever the master of beautiful design, Martha has teamed up with photo giant Kodak to offer a line of cards that's simple and sophisticated. We especially loved the embossing on the basic border cards and the easy-ship nature of the all-in-one cards, which can be folded and sealed with a coordinating sticker, cleverly eliminating that whole envelope-stuffing step. (The company will also print your return address on the outside of the card.)

Bonus: The site allows you to design your own mailing labels and gift tags with custom photos.

From $2.49 each, Bluestripes All-in-One Card.

Best Variety
Photoworks

Upload your image and place it into a smattering of different card designs—ranging from the classic folded card or postcard to accordion-style, die-cut, and more. No matter your choice, you'll follow an easy step-by-step creation process with an incredibly accurate preview. It also lets you know if the card size you've chosen requires extra postage.

Bonus: Unsure where to start? The site lets you search cards by number of photos, length of message, and design style.

From $2.77 each, Partridge.

Best Follow-Up
PhotoAffections.com

If you just want something printed completely on photo paper, head over to PhotoAffections.com. The more than 200 designs are slightly more graphic in style than the others, but it's the only one out of the four that allows you to choose whether you want your photo to appear in black and white, sepia, or color (no matter what the original file is). The company will also e-mail you a proof and wait for your approval until it starts printing your order.

Bonus: The more you order, the bigger your discount is (10 percent off of 50, 15 percent off of 75, etc.).

From $1.22 each, Japanese Weekend.
