- saltcellars
Why give them nuts in one big bowl when you can do it in two (or four, or six) little ones?
$4, Montessori Services.

- straws
The curlier and crazier the better.

- shot glasses
The liquid version of a saltcellar.
$2, Crate & Barrel and $13 for a set of four, Montessori Services.

- chopsticks
They'll want to perfect their technique by eating more ... and more.
$5 for two, Montessori Services.

- toothpicks and skewers
Use them (with caution) and your success rate on chopped veggies and fruit goes up 70 percent. More or less.

- votives
Every night is restaurant night!

- flashlight
Kill the overheads and shine a beam on any villainous last scraps of meat.

- takeout containers
Serve your "Mom! Chicken and broccoli again?" in them. (Ring the doorbell to pretend it's a delivery.)
