Q: What about your children makes you laugh?
A: The way their faces light up when I start making monkey noises and dancing like a monkey while my husband takes pictures.
Q: What is your favorite family ritual?
A: Bedtime—we nestle on the couch, listen to Nicky's Jazz Lullabies, and read classic books like Guess How Much I Love You and The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Q: What was your most frazzled mom moment?
A: It is hard to pick! Five minutes into a flight from Antigua to New York, Isabel threw up all over me, and to top it off, Zoe was having a tantrum on the floor of the plane.
Q: What parenting issue do you and your partner disagree most about?
A: We actually see pretty much eye to eye on everything. I think as the girls get older, things will change a bit. I suspect I am going to have to be the [disciplinarian].
Q: What is your parenting role: good cop or bad cop?
A: I am always firm but kind. I lavish affection and kisses on the kids, because they're good enough to eat! However, I am big on children being respectful to adults.
Q: What do you wake up in the middle of the night thinking about?
A: Usually work-related things. The other night, I dreamed I was doing a musical instead of a runway show, and everyone in the office had a role. I was glad to wake up and realize it was a bad dream.
Q: What do you wish you had done before you had children?
A: Nothing. I was 110 percent ready for a very long time!
Q: What is a typical Saturday morning in your house like?
A: Wayne gets the kids their bottles, and we all get into bed and watch Sesame Street. I am oddly into Elmo. Then we go for a walk and share muffins or bagels at the park. The girls play on the swings, and then it's back home for a nap.
WHAT'S YOUR...
...guiltiest pleasure?
I guess gossip magazines. I refuse to buy them, but when I find them lying around the office, I can't help but look.

Hot weather, clear water, and good wine.
...favorite clothing item?
Striped Marimekko T-shirts.
...current reading material?
Bill Bryson's Shakespeare: The World as Stage and Alan Bennett's The Uncommon Reader.
WHAT'S YOUR PREFERENCE:
Chocolate or cheese?
Don't make me pick!
Eat at home or takeout?
Cook at home.
Coddle your tot or let him cry it out?
Depends if they are sick or not. If I have been at work all day, I am prone at the first squeak to go and cuddle. But if they have been up already, I'm more likely to say, "Shout it out you girls!"
Q: What was your mom most right about?
A: Laughing always ends in tears.
