The Rogue's Gallery
Frames that are all one color provide unity, regardless of how diverse the contents are.
consider bright outlines
Don't shy away from bold-colored frames. You can also play with a family of colors—for instance, varying shades of blue.
match mattes
Use the same matte board for all the frames.
use what you have
If you already have a variety of frames, spray-paint them all one color.
decide on composition
Before hanging your frames, play with the arrangement on the floor. Use the largest image as a focal point—not necessarily a center—and surround it with the smaller frames. Keep the spacing equal and tight (no more than two inches apart).
