The Train Fanatic

The Child He brings his favorite train with him to the grocery store. He named all his stuffed animals Thomas. Now you'd like to give his gear a permanent station—and get the tracks off the dinner table.
The Plan Install a wooden shelf around his room, and fasten tracks to it with screws, glue, or Velcro. Give him mobile furniture, so he can access any part of the railroad (emergency train work does come up). Should your kid outgrow his train fixation, the perimeter shelf can be used for toys and books.
