The family has a car but relies heavily on Portland's streetcars. "They open up new conversations for the boys, who can interact with people as they watch the world go by," says Jason.

Harper lives in his supersoft 'I'll Change the World Someday' T-shirt," says Kim. "I love the message, and that it's made of organic cotton."

The couple go to Healthy Child Healthy World's website with questions about household toxins. "It explains what is and isn't safe to use around kids," says Jason.

Kim swears by all-natural Lucas' Papaw ointment from Australia for everything from diaper rashes to bug bites. "It's brilliant—it works instantly," she says.
