Cold-Weather Comforts

Baby, it's cold! See how our editors warm their homes and hearts this winter.

Oeuf Reversible Hoodie
Oeuf

"The Oeuf hoodie, made of supersoft alpaca, has become a winter staple for the kids in my house. This two-ply reversible sweater acts as a jacket in the fall and a toasty layer in the winter. The most genius part is that it zips down the back from the top of the hood—which means you never have to wrestle with the zipper. Chic, muted color combos, including brown and rose, gray and bark, and gray and white, make it a perfect new baby gift."
—Pilar Guzman, Editor-in-Chief

Buffalo Leather Gloves
Brooks Brothers

"Comfortable, warm, and versatile, these stylish gloves adapt to every setting: work, an evening out on the town, or Saturday at the playground with my daughter."
—Carl Germann, Assistant Managing Editor

Violette Body Cream
Fresh.com

"A luxurious salve for soothing both dry skin and winter doldrums, with a bright scent reminiscent of warmer days."
—Julie Alvin, Editorial Assistant

Slow Cooker

"Coming home to a crock pot of beef stew or braised-chicken adobo makes me feel as if my mom somehow magically transported herself from California to my New York City kitchen, just to cook dinner for me. Now, if only the crock pot could stroke my hair while I watch the Muppet Show?"
—Joyce Bautista, Managing Editor

Fatwitch Brownie Mix
Fat Witch Bakery

"Possibly the most perfect indoor activity: Easily shared with kids, it offers a warm oven, hot, gooey chocolate, and the opportunity to get away with saying "fat witch" all day. Need I say more about comfort and joy?"
—Darrick Harris, Photo Editor

Hot Toddy

"Forget mulled wine. My winter fave is a hot toddy with lemon, ginger and honey. Totally cozy, not too booze-y, and perfect for when I'm under the weather."
—Nicolette Berthelot, Designer

Mariage Frères Wedding Imperial Tea
Dean & Deluca

"When we don't want to go outside on cold winter days, my daughter Clara and I like to have tea parties...I personally love the Wedding Imperial Tea by Mariage Frères (the vanilla, caramel, and chocolate overtones are so delicious, it's almost like having dessert), and Clara goes for chamomile."
—Yolanda Edwards, Travel and Lifestyle Editor

Milk Frother
Amazon.com

"The Aerolatte steam-free milk frother whips my hot beverages into foamy goodness in no time. It's just what you need for those days when it's too frigid to even think about going to Starbucks."
—Sarah Engler, Associate Editor

The Thin Man Movies
Amazon.com

"There's nothing quite like curling up under a blanket (with or without martinis) to watch a Thin Man mystery. Nick and Nora are witty, stylish and irreverent—perfect company for a nasty gray afternoon."
