Proving that life doesn't imitate sappy songs from the 1970s, a Bosnian couple are getting divorced after discovering they had been secretly chatting each other up online under fake names.
Sana Klaric, 27, and husband Adnan, 32, met online while she was in an Internet cafe and he was at work, under the avatars Sweetie and Prince of Joy. They eventually decided to meet for real, each carrying a single rose for identification purposes.
It was not a pretty scene.
Adnan says he finds it "hard to believe" that Sweetie is
actually the same woman I married and who has not said a nice word to me for years.
Sana was no less dismayed by their mutual discovery. She says when she realized that Prince of Joy, he of the "tenderness in every expression," was her miserable lout of a husband, she was "shattered":
It was amazing, we seemed to be stuck in the same kind of miserable marriages - and how right that turned out to be.
Well, that's one thing they agree on.
