Personalized Potato Chips

kettle2.jpg

I have a guilty pleasure: potato chips. The good kind, made in small batches, cut from whole potatoes, flavored with natural ingredients, which means I'm a huge fan of Kettle chips. So when I heard about their Create-a-Chip-Challenge, I had to give it a try!

This summer, Kettle has produced a kit that lets you create and sample your own chip flavors. The kit comes with seven spice packets and four individual-size packages of unseasoned (but salted) chips. You just add your spice flavor, close the bag, and shake to mix well.

My son had so much fun experimenting with the flavors. He used the roasted tomato and the cheddar to create a flavor he calls Potatohead. I used the caramelized onion, sweet chili, and cardamom from my own pantry to create Kashmir Crunch. Once you've created your flavors, you can submit them online. If your flavor wins, you get free chips for a year! I so do not need that, but if they're offering....

Create-a-Chip kits are available online here for a limited time.
