Kayak.com Launches Fuel, Airline Fees Cost Calculators
Travel search engine Kayak.com has launched two new tools to help alert users to unforeseen (and seemingly ever-growing) trip expenses. Kayak.com's Fuel Cost Calculator adds the estimated cost of gas--depending on car model, miles, and even city versus highway driving--to the total daily rental cost, giving travelers a better way to compare rental prices. Their new Airline Fees Chart compares several airlines' fees on things like checked baggage, unaccompanied minors, pets and seat upgrades. So, with any luck the only sticker shock you'll encounter on your trip is from the overpriced, tacky souvenirs that your kids keep begging you to buy.
