Brittany Johnson threw a beautiful birthday party for her two year old daughter Arden. We've gone in to get the scoop on how she did it.
What was the inspiration for your beautiful party?
She loves "kirkles" or circles, so i thought that would be a fun theme. She's too young to appreciate her party, but she's also too young to tell me "I want a Disney princess party", so I got to choose.
We took some photos with the Polaroid camera.
I bought a party hat from the store and took it apart and traced it onto card stock and stapled it together to make a cone shape. Then I used pompoms that came on a string and stapled them around the bottom of the hat. (You can use clothes pins to hold it in place while you staple.) I did the same thing with a feather boa. For the newspaper fringe ones i just cut a strip of newspaper and stapled it around the bottom of the hat leaving a few inches hanging down to cut into fringe. Then we stapled the elastics on.
I already had some glass jars so I filled them with bouncy balls, beaded necklaces, balloons, and circle candies. So everyone could make their own goody bag. you could put circle confetti in the bags and finish them off with a circle sticker. These suckers would have been so fun, but they didn't fit the budget (Plum Party has such cute party supplies.)
We played games involving circles like the hokey pokey and duck-duck-goose.
What did you do for food?
For food I served circle peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (Uncrustables) with grape and banana shishkabobs and circle crackers and cheese. It was very easy. For dessert we then we had cupcakes with Neccos on top.
Thank you Brittany! We can't wait for Arden to turn three so we can see more of your ideas!
