DIY Detective Invitations

Jordan Ferney, Oh Happy Day

My niece Roxcy recently had a detective birthday party, so these invitations were inspired by her. They were very simple to make--here is how we did it.

We scored some magnifying glasses at our local dollar store, they came two to a pack. The ribbon, and glassine bags were ordered from PaperMart for very cheap. And the labels we got from Stuck Label company.

We designed the labels for the outside using a graphics program like Adobe Illustrator. The tiny invitations were printed out in micro point 4 font size and then tucked in the mini glassine envelopes. The invitations were sealed with a label. You can either hand deliver them or put them in a padded envelope to mail.

I did a similar concept for my daughter's Nancy Drew invitation, except I used shrinky sheets, and a custom Nancy Drew book cover to hold the magnifying glass and miniature invitation.
