Joanna Goddard, Cup of Jo
When I was little, I 100% believed in Peter Pan. I just knew that he was going to land on my window one night, in a flurry of leaves and twigs, and whisk me off to Neverland. I even made my parents call me "Wendy" when they put me to bed (which my siblings thought was hilarious, but what did they know?).
So, twenty years later, my heart still skipped a beat when I came across this incredible Peter Pan birthday party, which Merrilee, an artist in California, threw for her three-year-old son Atticus. "It helps that my little A. is obsessed with mister Peter Pan, or 'Peter Man' as he calls him," she says. "He runs around the house saying, 'Here we Gooooo.' "
"The goodie bags were a hit with the littles because of the ring pops and slimy slugs inside," Merrilee says, "but I was happy with the packaging."

Look at the mini Peters and Wendys on the cupcakes!

Atticus dressed the part in a re-styled Salvation Army shirt and Peter Pan cap that his father made.
"We had almost every character from Neverland represented," says Merrilee. "Tent poles were turned into swords, banners were struck down, leaves were turned into art and we played 'following the leader' during a cupcake walk. I felt like a kid again."
Mission accomplished.
