Reading to the Class?

Readaloud

Jenny Rosenstrach, Features Director

Picking books to read to your child's class can be a hard one: the beautiful, quiet story that is my daughter's MVP at bedtime, I find, does not necessarily translate to good reviews when read aloud to a room full of 6-year-olds. I'm sure this is something every teacher worth her weight in glitter glue knows, but the more interactive the better. Do Not Open This Book, by by Michaela Muntean and Pascal Lemaitre was a huge hit with both kindergarteners and first graders, and my hunch (though untested as of today) is that This Rabbit Belongs to Emily Brown, by Cressida Cowell and Neal Layton would work, too.

And if you're looking for more bedtime hits, we bet you haven't yet tried these 33 unheralded kids' classics.
