As Seen On ... Ohdeedoh
This might be the coolest thing ever done to an IKEA Lack table. What little boy (or girl, for that matter) wouldn't die for this?! Find out who did it and see more clever decoupaging projects over at Ohdeedoh.[From Nesting]
Great Idea: Outdoor Movie Screening

This fall, we love the idea of inviting friends over for an outdoor movie in our own backyards. And it's easier than you might think: You can buy an inflatable screen (for bucks), or simply use shower curtains, like Liz from Little Dash, or a white sheet, like Brooke from Inchmark. Add popcorn and blankets (and cute seats for pregnant friends!), and you'll have, well, a night to remember.
See more family movie screenings here, here and here.
See more from Nesting contributor Joanna Goddard at her blog, Cup of Jo.

P.S. Backyard camping and classic family movies.

Peel-and-Stick Chalkboard
We loved this bedroom chalkboard (see more photos here), but what if, like us, you're timid about splashing chalkboard paint on your walls? We were thrilled to discover these peel-and-stick chalkboard decals, which your family can happily cover with grocery lists, love notes and dinosaur drawings ... and then just peel off when you're done. -- Joanna Goddard, Cup of Jo
P.S. Features editor Jenny loves her family's chalkboard, and now chalkboard paint comes in color....

Genius Idea for Wallet-Size Photos
Consider stealing this idea from Cookie’s home editor, Kiera Coffee. When she came across a bunch of old photo-booth pictures in her apartment, she decided they were way too cute to keep tucked away in a drawer. To give the tiny snapshots more presence, she had them all matted and framed in the same simple white-on-white style, and voila, a fabulous wall display. Try doing the same with your kids’ school pics and line them up (down a long hallway perhaps) for a flip-book-style record of their childhood evolution. Or, if there happens to be an old photo booth lurking somewhere in your town, consider creating a twist on a family tree for your baby’s nursery. Just drag all the grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins to the booth and capture their mugs in miniature (funny faces encouraged!).

Back-to-School Signs
Every September, as kids head out of the house and onto the school bus, we moms want a way to capture the big moment. Well, forget the regular snapshot, and print out a sign with your child's grade and teacher's name. Looking back, you'll remember the sweet nervous morning (and the photo won't get lost in the shuffle). We love this idea from Angie Gubler ...

Bee-Themed Birthday Party
Angie Gubler is a graphic designer (and former Martha Stewart art director), so when she planned a first-birthday party for her daughter Bea, everyone knew it would be amazing. As a nod to her daughter's name, she chose a bee theme ...
... which featured everything from bee decor ...
... and bee cookies and brownies ...
... to make-your-own antennae and a pin-the-wings-on-the-bee game.
And how delicious does this honey-lemon beehive cake look? Happy birthday, Bea! (See more photos on Angie's new blog, Blonde Designs.)
