COOKIE MAGAZINE'S ULTIMATE FAMILY-ROOM MAKEOVER CONTEST

Contest begins at 12:01 A.M. ET on 5/27/08 and ends at 11:59 P.M. ET on 6/30/08, when all entries must be received. To enter, log on to www.cookiemag.com/go/hgtv, complete the online entry form, and submit it as instructed. All entries must include (i) a 250-word essay about why your family room needs a makeover; (ii) a photo of your family and your family room (file must not exceed 500 kilobytes); and (iii) the names and ages of all members of the family living at home (collectively, your "Submission"). Entrants represent and warrant that their Submission is the original work of such entrant, that it has not been copied from others, and that it does not violate the rights of any other person or entity. Limit one entry per person and per e-mail address during the promotion period. All entrant information, including e-mail addresses, is subject to the respective privacy policy of the applicable sponsor.

1 JUDGING CRITERIA All entries will be judged on or about 7/1/08 by a panel of judges from the editorial staff of Cookie magazine, who will select fifty (50) finalists based on the following criteria, which will be weighted equally: (i) Problem with your family room (e.g., is it compelling and universal?); (ii) solvability (e.g., are the space's bones good, and will an effective and dramatic makeover result?); and (iii) how the makeover will address your family's needs. HGTV will then judge the Submissions of the fifty (50) finalists based on the same criteria. The single entrant with the highest overall score will be declared the Potential Winner. In the event of a tie, Potential Winner will be selected based on the problem criteria. Any Potential Winner will be notified by mail, e-mail, and/or telephone. If a Potential Winner cannot be contacted, does not respond within three (3) days from the date when the Sponsor first tries to notify him/her, and/or the prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, such Potential Winner forfeits all rights to win the Promotion or receive the prize, and an alternate Potential Winner may be selected. Upon contact with a Potential Winner and determination that he/she has met all eligibility requirements of the Promotion , including without limitation the execution of required waivers, publicity, and liability releases and disclaimers, such individual will be declared the "Winner" of the Promotion.

PRIZE The Winner will have his/her family room made over by HGTV's Color Correction team, including painting of walls and/or furniture and installation of flooring and/or lighting. The approximate retail value for materials is $2,500. Actual value of makeover may vary based on amount of labor but will not exceed $2,500. The Winner must agree to appear on HGTV and in Cookie magazine with his/her family and home, and must allow HGTV in his/her home to conduct the makeover to coincide with filming and photography dates determined by Cookie magazine and HGTV. If Winner is unable to comply, Prize is forfeited, and an alternate Winner will be chosen. For the name of the Winner, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to Cookie Magazine's Ultimate Family-Room Makeover Contest, c/o Cookie magazine, 4 Times Square, New York, NY 10036, after 8/4/08 but before 2/4/09.
