Go ahead, let your 4-year-old wear the princess dress with the puffer vest to the grocery store. Fashion expert Scott Schuman thinks grown-ups could learn a thing or two from the outfits kids put together. "Children dress to express, not impress," he says. "They pick clothes that reflect their own crazy attitudes." It's that kind of originality that Schuman, a former fashion-showroom owner, seeks out for his blog, The Sartorialist, where he documents everyday adult style-setters in cities from New York (where he resides) to Milan. His simply framed, on-the-street photos, which started as a hobby when he became a stay-at-home dad, are accompanied by a few carefully chosen words of praise. As a result, the site is as much about capturing personalities as it is about documenting great clothes. For Cookie, he turns his lens on junior style innovators.
