Continue 13 miles north to the Culinary Institute of America (1946 Campus Dr., Hyde Park, 845- 451-1546; reservation required) to watch the students in action.
In Rhinebeck, 13 miles north, pop into A. L. Stickle Variety Store (13 E. Market St., 845-876-3206), then have a sandwich at Bread Alone (45 E. Market St., 845-876-3108) and cones at Del's Dairy Creme (775 Albany Post Rd., 845-876-4111). At Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome (9 Norton Rd., 845-752-3200), flying enthusiasts can ride in a vintage plane.
