What It Is: Thirty cottages surrounded by natural swamps and waterfalls in a fishing village in the underdeveloped south coast.

The Rooms: The 30 cottages encompass the feeling of the garden, sea, and sky and include Moroccan domes and arches. There are no in-room telephones or televisions. A two-bedroom ocean view cottage is ideal for families. If you want to go all out, request the Calabash Bay four-bedroom villa with a swimming pool.

Amenities: There is a saltwater swimming pool with a huge shallow end, a media room (games and a music library), a poolside bar, Driftwood Spa, and two restaurants. Wireless Internet access is available in main areas.

Activities: Take a tour of the Black River, the YS Falls (a seven-tiered waterfall with shallow swimming holes), or the Milk River via the Alligator Pond. You can also cycle, fish, and swim. Kids can also take mosaic classes.

Montego Bay

What It Is: A 400 acre ocean front resort located along 2 miles of beaches on the coast of Montego Bay, Jamaica.

The Rooms:A wide variety of different motifs and color schemes decorate the rooms, and each offers a spacious layout and comfort. Each room has a patio or balcony and a gorgeous view of the surrounding area.

Amenities: The resort has the health and fitness center, two swimming pools, an Olympic sized pool and the children?s center. The Anancy Children?s Village is the children?s center and it is based on Jamaica?s fabled children?s character Anancy the Spider. The center is open to children ages 3 to 12. Here they can enjoy puppet shows, arts & crafts, and story time. Children also have the opportunity to learn about Jamaica.

Activities: Any recreational activity you can think of is offered at the resort from tennis to paddle boats, there is plenty of action within the resort that will keep your kids busy.
