The Tyler Place Family Resort

What it is: A 75-year-old resort that feels like a self-contained village and camp for both children and adults.

The rooms: The resort is made up of cottages, suites, and a country inn. Each accommodation has a separate sleeping area for the parents and a private outdoor seating area. Some of the cottages can sleep up to 10 people, making this a great place for family reunions or trips with multiple families.

Amenities: Everyone in your family will be taken care of for the duration of your stay: free bikes are available for everyone to ride, and there's a children's program for kids toddler age to 15 years old. The resort also offers a chance for parents to let loose with their parents' night out, which offers unique entertainment on property.

At this 120-acre resort, you can stay in a country manor–style room or in a resort house with panoramic views of the slopes. Topnotch's kids' program includes skiing or snowboarding lessons and carriage rides. And its paneled spa lives up to the resort's name (try the Vermont-wildflower herbal wrap). What it is: A Harbor Club and Resort located right on Lake Champlain.

The rooms: There are 74 cottages inspired by the natural beauty of Vermont and 42 guestrooms set in four different guesthouses. Cottages range from one to three bedrooms and many having a living room for lounging. All the rooms in the guesthouses have private baths.

Amenities: The kids' program at Basin Harbor is like a true summer camp and each age group has a healthy mix of indoor and outdoor activities, some include a trip to the ropes course. There are also a ton of lessons from golf to sailing that everyone in your family can take advantage of right on property.

Activities: Basin Harbor is a great place to spend lazy days picnicking, hiking, storytelling, taking a hayride, playing bingo, and enjoying a bonfire, or active days golfing and playing tennis.
