Travel Health Kit

Cookie's travel editor has been on the road (or in the skies) with her daughter, Clara, since she was 5 weeks old, and not without incident. From the sudden onset of explosive diarrhea (while on her lap) at the beginning of a seven-hour flight to Zurich to mysterious bug bites in the Caribbean, she's tried practically every health product out there. Here are her favorites—both homeopathic and not—for whatever ailment your journeys might throw at your family. Consult your doctor, then pick and choose to create your ultimate kit.

Basic Carry-On Kit

Traumeel ear drops are fantastic for the clogged ears of kids and adults on planes—and remember that the descent is worse than the ascent.

You should always have Benadryl (children and adult varieties) on hand for any sort of allergy or reaction. Either transfer the liquid version to a FAA-approved leak-free Nalgene travel bottle, or bring the quick-dissolve strips for older kids and for you.

Also include Children's Motrin in the 2-ounce bottle for headaches or fevers.
